WPDG submit planning for a new Farmstead to enable housing development in Ilmington

Warwickshire Property and Development Group (WPDG) submitted a planning application for a new farmhouse and barns at the County owned farm in Ilmington. The new farm buildings once consented will enable the existing tenant farmer to relocate to the new farm buildings and provide vacant possession of the Neighbourhood Plan allocated development site at Back Lane in Ilmington.

It is expected that planning consent will be granted early in 2024 which will enable WPDG and its professional team to tender for a delivery partner to bring forward the newly consented farm buildings and proposed redevelopment site.

This is a real opportunity to bring forward a much needed mix of housing types and tenures in this affluent village which will allow both growing families and downsizers to stay in the area. The scheme will include 40% affordable housing provision as well as a good quality open space and accessibility into the village and nearby play and recreation area.

The allocated site is for a development of 20 houses with a further 8 houses on a reserve allocation adjoining. WPDG will work with Stratford District Council alongside the Parish Council and local residents to ensure the scheme is a good fit for Ilmington.
