Construction gathers pace at Greville Business Park as steelwork goes up

September 22, 2026/in Latest news

Construction is gathering pace on a new commercial development in Warwick, which is set to provide much-needed space for small and medium-sized businesses and support up to 85 jobs.

Groundworks have now been completed at Greville Business Park, which is being developed by Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG) and the steel framework for 11 high-quality commercial units is being erected.

Located between Leamington Spa and Warwick, the development will provide 28,000 sq ft of flexible commercial space across units ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 sq ft, offering a range of opportunities for established businesses, growing companies and new ventures.

The scheme is being constructed by Birmingham-based E Manton Limited, with completion expected this winter. A further 15,000 sq ft commercial unit is also being delivered for a named occupier.

The development received unanimous planning consent from Warwick District Council and is being built to meet EPC A and BREEAM Very Good standards, reflecting the growing demand from businesses for modern, energy-efficient premises.

The units are being marketed for freehold sale by Avison Young and will benefit from a range of features designed to meet the needs of modern commercial occupiers. These include PV roof panels, roller shutter level-access loading doors, three-phase electricity, mains water, fitted toilet facilities and minimum seven-metre eaves heights.

Greville Business Park is WPDG’s second commercial scheme, following the successful delivery and sale of Sucham Park in Southam. The development was fully let within 12 months of completion, attracting a mix of growing local businesses and new start-ups.

The Warwick scheme forms the first phase of a wider two-phase development planned by WPDG at Fusiliers Way. The second phase is set to deliver a new local centre serving the growing area and its business community, with plans including a convenience store, children’s day nursery and coffee shop.

Together, the two phases will create new employment opportunities, business space and local amenities to support the continued growth of the area.

WPDG was formed in 2021 by Warwickshire County Council to realise the potential of its development sites, commercial buildings and mineral rights.

Rob Andrews, Head of Development at WPDG, said: “It’s a great milestone to see contractors on site and steelwork going up at Greville Business Park.

“This scheme will help address the real shortage of high-quality small business space in this part of Warwickshire and we’re looking forward to seeing these units taken up by ambitious SMEs once construction is finished.

“Greville Business Park also builds on the strong track record we’ve established in Warwickshire, and it forms part of our wider ambition to deliver much-needed commercial space for SMEs right across the county.”

Cllr James Crocker, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property at Warwickshire County Council, said: “With the construction work underway we are taking a positive step forward in delivering a scheme that will help businesses stay, grow and thrive in the county.

“Greville Business Park will be a high-quality development, providing local companies with room to expand while creating new employment opportunities for residents.

“Projects such as this demonstrate our commitment to supporting economic growth, investing in our communities and ensuring Warwickshire remains an attractive place for businesses to locate and succeed.”

Ian Clorley, Director at E Manton Ltd, added: “It is fantastic to see the excellent start to the project our site team has made, and to see the development taking shape on site.

“E Manton are excited to be working alongside WPDG on the delivery of these much-needed new units. Projects like this are important not only in providing high-quality facilities for growing businesses, but also in creating employment opportunities and supporting the wider local economy.

“It gives us a real sense of pride to be involved in a development that will have a lasting positive impact on the local area, and we look forward to seeing the project progress over the coming months.”

Greville Business Park is being marketed for freehold sale by Avison Young.

Sam Forster, Surveyor at Avison Young, said: “We’re seeing strong demand for high-quality, well-connected commercial units in the region, so it’s fantastic to see construction at Greville Business Park progressing, bringing much-needed employment floorspace to the market.

“With strong transport links, access to the motorway network via the M40 and A46, and sitting only two kilometres from both Warwick and Leamington town centres, the scheme occupies a strategic location for both growing and established local businesses.”

New lease paves the way for improvements at Grendon Community Centre

September 3, 2026/in Latest news

A North Warwickshire community centre is embarking on an exciting new chapter after signing a new lease, paving the way to improve its facilities and attract more groups, activities and events.

Grendon Community Centre, which was built in 1974 as a youth centre and has operated as a not-for-profit charity since 2012.

It is open seven days a week and provides a home for a wide range of activities including yoga and karate classes as well as being available to hire for family celebrations and parties.

The new lease has been agreed with Warwickshire Property Management Ltd (WPM), part of Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG).

Renewing its lease has given the volunteer committee at Grendon Community Centre at Boot Hill in Grendon, near Atherstone, the confidence to press ahead with plans to refurbish the building and improve its appearance.

It will also support with applying for grants to upgrade key infrastructure including the electrical distribution system, fire detection and alarm systems.

Plans also include redecorating the interior, replacing worn flooring, creating a new patio area at the front of the building and purchasing mobile air conditioning units to make the venue even more attractive for existing and prospective users.

The committee hopes the improvements will help attract new dance schools, martial arts clubs, community organisations and local residents looking for a venue for children’s parties, classes and events.

Ian Bennett, a member of the volunteer committee which runs Grendon Community Centre, said: “The committee is constantly exploring different grants to upgrade the community centre.

“We’re a charity and until we signed the renewal lease, we didn’t want to go ahead with any of the refurbishment work until that was agreed. Now it has, it has given us the confidence to go ahead and improve the facilities.

“The demographics are changing in the village with more families moving here with children and we want to attract more people.

“We’d also love to hear from anyone interested in joining the committee and helping shape the future of this fantastic community asset.”

WPM is part of Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG), which manages the Warwickshire County Council leased portfolio.

Mandeep Padan, Asset Manager at Warwickshire Property Management (WPM), added: “Community centres play a vital role in bringing people together and providing spaces where local groups, families and organisations can thrive.

“This new lease gives them the certainty they need to invest in the building and plan for the future.

“The enthusiasm and ambition shown by the volunteers is clear to see and they have exciting plans to make the centre even more welcoming and accessible for the local community. We look forward to seeing the improvements take shape and the centre continue to grow as an important hub for Grendon for many years to come.”

Cllr James Crocker, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property at Warwickshire County Council, said: “Securing this lease supports Grendon Community Centre to continue its brilliant work as a focal point for the community.

“This agreement will help unlock future improvements and ensures local residents and groups can continue to benefit from this valued community space.

“Through the work of WPM, we are pleased to support the centre as it enters this next chapter.”
